Remote Internet CCTV Access:

Fixed IP:

To enable remote monitoring it is recommended the use of Broadband with a fixed IP address. Most Internet Providers will supply fixed IP's for around £15 a month but as dynamic IP's addresses change periodically providing a different address according to the DHCP re issue time period, you will have to know the address before you can connect.

DDNS:

The alternative to a fixed IP is Dynamic Domain Naming Service (DDNS), which require other configuration requirements on the router; such as enabling a service for the DVR, a pass through port reference and firewall setting but this information will be provided in the manual for the modem and Virtual Server settings.

Broadband Speed:

Remote access picture quality is normally very good along with the ability to remotely search the digital DVR for previous recording by date or time is possible but quality will depend on the speed of your Broadband.

Check your Broadband speed with one of the internet checkers

CSI can supply install and configure units for remote access for both residential and business use.
