Rental Prices:

It is possible to rent the majority of products listed on this site, especially Mobile DVR's for Taxi and Private Hire Cars, from as little as £1.00 to £5.00 per day (Excl Vat) depending on system required on an agreed rental period.

CSI is currently offering a rental scheme for both Private Hire and Black Cab Taxi's, with equipment that has already been accepted and on test with a number of Councils in the UK (see list below). The Council future licensing requirements range from no requirement to the following basic specification.

Private Hire specification:

Vehicles to have a secure DVR with hard disk, no access to re play software by the driver, one camera, min 7 day recording capacity.

Black Cabs specification:

Vehicles to have a secure DVR with hard disk, no access to DVR by passengers, no access to play software by the driver, two cameras with IR for night use, min 7 day recording capacity.

• The rental of CCTV equipment on a monthly rental cost (calculated on a per day usage) over an agreed fixed annual contract period (Offer is subject to min term rental of 1 year - cheaper rental available of £1.00-£1.50/day if rental term is over 3 years) possible coinciding with the licence renew term, made between either the taxi company or owner drivers.
• Deposit payable on installation but refundable at end of agreement if the rental is not renewed and equipment not damaged.
• Accredited installer-network to maintain installation standards and operational use of equipment and software.
• An equipment health check to coincide with licence renewal (included in rental) required by Council on license renewal
• 24 hr coverage for exchange and repair (included in rental).
• CCTV hardware that currently meet all the council’s requirements and any future changes that may be required as an upgrade.
• The concept of CSI providing a “key holder” position that has the responsibility for image/video retrieval from the secure system (under rental) on behalf of the Council or Police. This concept would overcome any issue that may arise from illicit use of image retrieval software used by none appointed persons; i.e. owner drivers or hackers and overcome the need to train Police or Council staff in different system and unburdening them in this role.
• Secure file system.
• Note: The contractual condition will be subject to the licence period and support from the licensing authority to enforce CCTV use.

A number of councils have already seen and agreed the installation and use of the proposed CCTV equipment by taxi companies pending the absence of any agreed approval list, on the basis that any future changes required to improve or upgrade the hardware to meet these requirements are carried out:
